Start and finish at the Nymfaia Tourist Pavilion, in the peri-urban forest of Nymfaia near Komotini. A variation of the classic and much-loved "Kanoni" course. Circular route: Nymfaia Tourist Pavilion - Testing Grounds Base - St. George's Chapel (Parcharia) - Kanoni - 564m point (Flag) - return to the Tourist Pavilion. The course runs mainly on trails, with roughly 10% dirt road. Open to runners aged 18 and over; runners aged 16 and over may take part with a signed declaration from their guardian. Two intermediate aid stations at 9 and 11km with water, isotonic drinks and light snacks. Runners must carry their own flask or cup - the race follows a zero-waste policy and single-use plastic cups will be kept to a minimum at the stations. Dropping any litter on the course (gel wrappers, bar packaging etc.) carries a time penalty and/or disqualification. Provisions: participation gift, full aid station support, recovery food at the finish and a commemorative finisher's medal. Awards take place at the start/finish area after the races: cups for the top 3 men and top 3 women overall, plus age categories 18-34, 35-49 and 50+ (men/women). The top 3 overall are excluded from the age categories; an age category is awarded only if at least 3 athletes take part in it, otherwise it merges with the previous one. First aid by the Hellenic Red Cross, Komotini branch. Bag storage available at the start. Registration runs through rodopirunners.gr via the athletin.gr platform. Group registration is available for teams of more than 10 people, clubs and gyms at €10 per runner. NOTE: the start is reached from Komotini through the Nymfaia Forest (Alsos Nymfaias) and has nothing to do with the village of Nymfaia - follow the asphalt road climbing from Komotini up to Alsos Nymfaias.
