7th edition of the Goritsa Trail, held on the hill overlooking Volos and organized by the Volos Health Runners Association together with the Region of Thessaly, under the auspices of EOSLMA-Y, and part of the ITRA global trail running calendar (1 ITRA point for this route). Start/finish is at the foothills of Goritsa hill, next to the Volos EAK stadium, swimming pool, shooting range and scout facilities. Course checkpoints: church of Goritsa at 5.2km (cutoff 1h30m from start), the Alli Meria-Anemoutsa road at 9.75km (start of the climb toward Agios Taxiarchis), a chapel at 14.95km (cutoff 4h30m from start), and Alli Meria at 20.69km, each with an aid station. 24km finishers receive a High5 energy gel courtesy of Pharmnet; all stations also offer crisps and salty snacks. Eco-friendly race: no plastic bottles on course - runners must bring their own flask/bottle to refill at aid stations. Safety is covered by EKAB, including a motorcycle for rapid response, and the Special Forces Club of Magnesia. Bib pickup: Saturday, November 28, 17:00-18:30 at the start area in Goritsa, and race day 08:00-09:00 at the start area.
