The event is dedicated to the memory of Rodoula Spetsotaki. Start and finish are on Samaraki & Gaziou street, in front of the Cultural Association offices in the Agios Ioannis suburb of Heraklion. The course runs through Polymnias, Ermi, John Chadwick, Lavreos and Metageni streets into the village of Knossos, turns left at the church of Agia Paraskevi onto a dirt road through the river and the ravine with a substantial climb, then returns via Polymnias, Ermi, Karyotaki and Samaraki streets to the finish. Open to anyone aged 13 and over; entrants aged 13 to 18 need a guardian's consent form. Walkers are welcome. Two water stations, at 3km and at the top of the climb; water and a banana at the finish. The whole route is marked and staffed by volunteers, and a sweeper vehicle follows the last runners and brings anyone who drops out back to the finish. Medals, mementos and diplomas for the first 3 men and the first 3 women of the general classification, and a finisher's medal for everyone. All entrants receive a dry-fit T-shirt, a bag, a cap and a bib with a timing chip. Race pack pickup: Saturday 10 October 2026, 10:00-13:00 and 17:00-20:00, at the Cultural Association offices (Tantalou & Gaziou). The T-shirt size declared on the entry form is final and cannot be changed. Belongings are kept in sealed bags by volunteers at the Association offices, where toilets are also available; do not leave valuables. A recent medical check-up and the relevant declaration on the entry form are required. Entries are capped for safety reasons, so register early.
