Important Information
The 6th Kastraki Trail is dedicated to the memory of the teacher and benefactor Theodoros Theodoridis, who gave the town of Grevena its grove.
The Health Runners of Grevena co-organise the event with the Regional Unit of Grevena and the Municipality of Grevena, under the auspices of EOSLMA-Y. Alongside the races, the Prevention Centre for Addictions and Promotion of Psychosocial Health of the Regional Unit of Grevena, ORIZONTES, holds activities for children and families.
Start and finish are at the Open-Air Theatre of Grevena in Theodoridis Grove, on the safe paths of the grove.
This 1,000m race is NOT timed and is open only to primary-school pupils, who must be entered with a declaration from a parent or guardian; children must have been medically examined and take part under the responsibility of their parents or guardians.
Limited to 100 children on a first-come, first-served basis.
Awards: commemorative prizes for the first 3 boys and first 3 girls in each of the three school categories, A-B Dimotikou (grades 1-2), G-D Dimotikou (grades 3-4) and E-ST Dimotikou (grades 5-6).
A child who runs in the wrong age category is disqualified.
Every child who finishes receives an embossed commemorative finisher medal.
Sponsor gifts are distributed by raffle and the award ceremonies take place at the KASTRAKI open-air theatre after the races finish.
Bib and race material pickup is at the Secretariat in the start area from 08:15 to 09:45; bring the confirmation email showing the bib number together with an ID card, passport or driving licence.
Collection by a third party requires a photocopy of the entrant's ID and a copy of the email, otherwise the bib is not released.
Clothing and equipment can be handed in at the Secretariat, but no valuables, phones or items of value.
The participation package includes the embossed commemorative finisher medal, a commemorative athlete gift, the bib, on-course feeding, post-race recovery products, medical services and free photographic coverage of the whole event; this race is run without electronic chip timing.
Passage checkpoints operate on the route.
A sweeper runner follows the field, the Grevena Rescue Team is stationed at various points and a doctor provides first aid; medical cover is provided by the event Health Service with the Chief Doctor, emergency services and first-aid staff.
Bibs must be pinned at all four corners and be fully visible, and are personal and non-transferable without prior approval of the Organising Committee.
After finishing, children should keep walking towards the exit to collect their medal and bottled water.
Objections about a competitor's compliance that affects the placing of the first six may be submitted during the race and up to 30 minutes after the announcement of the winners.
Registration cancellation requests are not accepted; if the 6th Kastraki Trail itself is cancelled, entrants of the paid races are refunded, and the races may be cancelled or postponed due to an emergency or by decision of the organisers.
Children entered in this race also count towards a family or club group entry of 7 or more people, submitted with the EXCEL form at https://bit.ly/kastrakigroup26 and emailed to dromeisgrevenon@gmail.com with proof of deposit to Piraeus Bank IBAN GR4501722400005240075428251.
KTEL Grevena offers participants a 25% travel discount on 10, 11 and 12 October.
