Important Information
The 5th Spata Run is organised by the Municipality of Spata-Artemida and Kinergon; the organising committee is Giorgos Paschos and Kostas Monokrousos.
The races start and finish outside the D. Dimitriou Municipal Stadium of Spata.
The 10,000m race is run on a predefined, marked course on public roads, covering two loops of the route.
There are four water stations on the course.
Open to athletes and recreational runners born in 2010 or earlier.
Men's age categories: 2011-2009 (15-17), 2008-2007 (18-19), 2006-1997 (20-29), 1996-1987 (30-39), 1986-1977 (40-49), 1976-1967 (50-59), 1966-1957 (60-69), 1956 and earlier (70 and over).
Women's age categories: 2011-2009 (15-17), 2008-2007 (18-19), 2006-1997 (20-29), 1996-1987 (30-39), 1986-1977 (40-49), 1976-1967 (50-59), 1966 and earlier (60 and over).
Runners should arrive at least 45 minutes before the start.
Entries are capped at 600 runners in total for the 5,000m and 10,000m races together, and registration may close earlier than the announced date.
Electronic timing with two timing points, one at the start/finish and one mid-course.
Timing chip and event T-shirt pickup at the Municipal Stadium of Spata, first office behind the stands: Friday 27 November 18:00-21:00, Saturday 28 November 11:00-14:00 and Sunday 29 November 07:00-08:00.
Every participant receives a commemorative metal medal, and the first 3 in each age category of each distance are awarded.
SEGAS rules apply; teams and clubs may run in a shirt of their choice.
A supervised area is provided for personal belongings, marked with the race number, but the organisers are not liable for loss or theft.
An ambulance with full equipment, two rescuers and a doctor are on site throughout the event.
Participants must have had a medical and cardiological examination before the race; the organisers will not ask for medical certificates and everyone competes at their own risk, with minors taking part under the responsibility of their guardians.
If the race is postponed due to unforeseen circumstances it will be held on the first available Sunday within one month.
