International mountain running race on Mount Olympus, held annually on the second Sunday of December, organised by Olympus Marathon in cooperation with the Municipality of Dion-Olympos, the Regional Unit of Pieria and the Region of Central Macedonia. Start and finish at the small theatre of Litochoro Municipal Park. New course, mostly on the E4 trail in the Enipeas gorge inside Olympus National Park (UNESCO Biosphere Reserve): Litochoro – National Park Information Office – Kokkinogies – Galdrima stream – Stavros / Boudolas refuge – Chandolia – Zilnia – Kouvari – Mylos, then up through Portes and Damaskinies, leaving the E4 at km 18.5 for the hard climb of Golna (highest point, with views of the summits, the gorge and Agios Dionysios Monastery), steep descent to Faki guesthouse, Agioi Apostoloi and Agia Paraskevi chapel, and back through Litochoro to the park. Aid stations: Boudolas refuge at Stavros (km 7, 930 m) and Mylos (km 12, 350 m, central station). Single cut-off at Mylos (km 12): 2h45 after the start. Outside assistance only at the two aid stations; no pacers (30-minute penalty). Open to men and women 18+ who have validly finished at least one mountain race of 11 km or more with at least 450 m of elevation gain between 01/01/2023 and the close of registration; qualifying race details and ITRA profile link (if any) are required on the entry form. If block starts are used, seeding is by ITRA score only. Entries not meeting the criteria are rejected with a 50% refund. Winners (M/F) of the 2025 race run free. Individual entries only, online with credit/debit card. Fee includes BIB, first aid, aid stations, athlete pack, organiser gift, finisher medal and private accident insurance. No medical certificate required. Mandatory equipment: at least 0.5 L water reserve (no cups at aid stations), visible BIB and shoes suitable for rocky Olympus terrain; beanie, windproof jacket and gloves recommended. Poles are NOT allowed. Course marked with coloured tape and small signs; kilometres are not marked. Littering means disqualification. Finish bag for a change of clothes handed in at the secretariat. BIB pickup at the EXPO area, Litochoro Municipal Park, with ID or passport (secretariat hours to be announced). Age categories M/W: 18-23, 24-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79. Cups to the top 3 men and women overall and top 3 per age category (1st only if fewer than 6 finishers); medals to all finishers within the time limit. Awards ceremony at 14:30 at Litochoro park.
