Tsiklitiria revives the historic athletics tradition of Pylos in honour of local Olympic champion Kostis Tsiklitiras, who won gold in the standing long jump at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics after two silver medals at London 1908. The day also includes a commemorative ceremony with an exhibition on his life, plus a separate honorary exhibition event (Ειδικό Αγώνισμα Τιμής) reviving his signature standing long jump discipline, held 07:00-11:00 in front of his house - a demonstration, not a timed race. Held under the auspices of the Municipality of Pylos-Nestor, the Region of Peloponnese, the Greek National Tourism Organisation (EOT) and the General Secretariat of Sports. All entrants receive a Welcome Pack (t-shirt, bag and bib in an envelope) plus a finisher medal. Bib and material pickup is on 20 September, 07:00-09:00, at Molos Pylou (the Pylos harbour promenade). Athletes registering by 14 September at 12:30 get a bib printed with their name; later registrations receive unnamed bibs. A GPX file of the course is available from the organiser. Doctors, nursing staff and an ambulance are on site throughout, with EODY (Greek CDC) health protocols followed.
