The 12K starts with 1200m of asphalt before a steep 1km climb. The next 3km follow a dirt forest road through terrain burned in a recent wildfire, then drop onto a green forest road for a 5km descent. The final ~2km alternate short climbs and descents on mixed dirt and asphalt. The route traces the slopes of Mount Penteli (Pentelikon), Attica's second-highest peak at 1,109m, famed for its marble and pine forests, with views over the South Evoikos Gulf; the course changes each year to showcase different parts of the mountain. Proceeds support replacing equipment for the volunteer forest firefighters affected by the wildfire that devastated much of the mountain. Organized by APS Telmissos Marathon Runners Club of Nea Makri.
