Memorial race honoring the resistance fighters and residents of Kokkinia who were rounded up, tortured, and executed by Nazi occupation forces in the block raid of August 17, 1944. First edition, organized by the Piraeus Labour Center. The route retraces in reverse the path German trucks took carrying prisoners from Kokkinia to the Haidari camp: starting at Block 15 inside the Haidari concentration camp ("Karaiskaki A'" military camp) and finishing at the Mantra execution site in Kokkinia. Course: Floutzi - Agoniston Stratopedou Chaidariou - Iera Odos - Thivon - Petrou Ralli - 7is Martiou - Iliopoleos - Mantra Blokou Kokkinias. Runners must stay on the right side of the road throughout. Free entry with electronic timing. Two aid stations at 3.8km (before Iera Odos/Thivon junction) and 6.5km (Petrou Ralli, near the State Hospital); water and bananas at the finish. Doctor and ambulance on course and at the finish. Awards for the top 3 men and top 3 women overall, plus finisher gifts for everyone. Minimum age 18. Bib pickup: Saturday, September 19, 10:00-18:00, at Nikaia Town Hall (foyer).
