Three-loop circular course around the "Bisti" peninsula on dirt terrain, moderate difficulty, starting/finishing at the Alsos "Bisti" entrance. Named after ancient Hermione's fame as the leading producer of Tyrian purple dye, extracted from the Murex sea snail; the route passes the ruins of the temples of Athena and Poseidon, the chapel of Agios Nikolaos, a windmill, and a lighthouse at the peninsula's eastern tip. 1 aid station at start/finish with natural mineral water; finish area also offers oranges, bananas, cereal bars and juices. Awards: finisher medal for everyone plus honor medals for the top 3 men and top 3 women overall. Bib pickup Saturday 9 January 10:30-15:30 at the Koilada Community Store, or Sunday 10 January 08:30-12:15 (strict) at the Alsos "Bisti" entrance.
