Multi-terrain course around Vilia with +525m of elevation gain and a 4-hour cutoff from the 09:00 start. Open to athletes 16 and older (born before 27 September 2010) who are in good physical condition; field capped at 250 entrants. Organized by the Municipality of Mandra-Eidyllia in collaboration with the Skiers-Mountaineers-Cyclists Club of Thebes (SCHOP) and the Organizing Committee of Kithaironas Trail. Race pack pickup: Sunday 27/09/2026, 07:30-08:45, at the event kiosk on Vilia's central square - collected in person, photo ID required. Five aid/support stations along the course (start, 4.8km, 8.9km, 13.7km, 17.7km, 20.5km and the finish) with water, isotonic drink and snacks (banana, salty snacks, cola) at the later stations, plus medical staff at every stop. Entry (the 'Advanced' package) includes a uniquely designed pair of technical socks (Soft Air+ 60%, Elastomer 20%, Elastane 10%, Polyamide 10%, moisture-wicking), sponsor gifts, secure baggage/clothing check during the race, a double-sided finisher medal, electronic timing by raceresult (via Vetta Sports Events) with live results on the timing company's official site, a free digital finisher certificate, and athlete photos/event video. Awards for the top 3 men and top 3 women overall, plus age-category winners (up to 39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+); overall-category winners are not also eligible for an age-category prize. Key rules: bib must be worn visibly on the front; no pacers, companions or pets accompanying runners (a leashed pet is allowed only behind the last runner, and may only overtake with that runner's consent); no external or motorized assistance; no littering; all checkpoints are mandatory - missing one voids the result; protests must be filed in person within 30 minutes of finishing. Runners who withdraw should make their way to the nearest aid station, from where organizer transport will take them to the finish; if injured and unable to move, stay in place and notify volunteers/marshals. The route may be adjusted for safety, and the race may be delayed, halted or cancelled for severe weather or other serious cause - if cancelled by state order or force majeure, entries roll over automatically to the rescheduled date. Photos/video may be taken for promotional use during the race and awards ceremony; contact the organizers by email to opt out. The organizing committee will contact every registrant by phone or email about a week before race day, with a final confirmation deadline of 20 September 2026 - confirming is required to secure your race-day package. The race honors Dimitris Dervenis, a Vilia-born, Balkan-class marathon runner who won the 1957 Greek national marathon title in 2:56:55 running for Ethnikos Gymnastikos Syllogos, later served as an international track judge for SEGAS, and was a founding member of the Greek Veteran Athletes Association (SEVAS) Athens; "Derveneia" is held in his memory.
