Two-runner relay over the half marathon course. For organisational reasons the first runner covers 11.8 km and the second 9.3 km; the second-leg runners are transferred by bus to the exchange zone immediately after the start of the race. The course is certified by World Athletics and approved by SEGAS: fast, flat asphalt along the seafront with no elevation changes, starting and finishing on the quay of the Central Port of Kalamata. Runners first head east along the Navarinou coastal road towards the Elite hotel, where they turn around; returning along Navarinou they enter the Panellinio area (Akrita and Navarinou), pass back through the start area, then the port and the Port Authority, and continue towards Kordias and the West Beach. They pass the Air Force installations and turn around roughly at the level of the Kart track, then return by the same route and, after the marina, finish back at the start. Kilometre markers every 1 km along the whole course. All runners wear a timing chip collected with the bib from the secretariat; electronic control mats are placed at the turnaround points, including the Elite hotel turnaround and the 11.8 km and 19 km turnarounds. Runners must cross the finish timing mat for a valid finish, and running without a bib is not permitted. The first 3 relay teams are awarded, and every participant receives a commemorative medal. Award ceremony at 13:10. Race pack collection (timing chip and technical t-shirt) at the secretariat on Saturday 5 December 17:00-21:00 at the Kalamata Municipal Cultural Centre, Aristomenous 33 (Reggina hall), and on race day Sunday 08:30-10:00 at the race site on the Kalamata quay, where a limited number of new entries is also accepted. Only participants who complete registration and payment online can choose their t-shirt size; race-day entries may not receive a t-shirt depending on availability. Bag storage is available in a dedicated area - attach the sticker with your bib number to your bag - and items are returned on presentation of the bib; the organisers accept no liability for losses. Chemical toilets at the start and finish. No medical certificates are required and all runners compete at their own exclusive responsibility, minors under the responsibility of their parent; the Red Cross, volunteer nurses, rescuers, EKAB, doctors and ambulances cover the whole course and the start-finish area. Traffic is interrupted where necessary between 10:30 and 13:30 under the direction of the Traffic Police, and cars, motorcycles or other vehicles are not allowed to follow the runners.
