Start and finish at the same point, the central square of Koumani, on the Foloi oak forest plateau. 90% of the course is forest singletrack and the remaining 10% forest road. Routes are marked in red at visible points, with work tape and wooden signs carrying the race logo. An experienced sweeper follows the last runner on each route. Open to men and women who have turned 18; entrants under 18 must supply a parent or guardian declaration, signed and emailed to foloitrailrun@gmail.com or handed to the race secretariat at race pack pickup. Each athlete takes personal responsibility for the required medical check-up before the race. Age categories, men and women separately: 18-35, 35-50, 50 and over. Awards: top 3 men and top 3 women in the general classification, top 3 in each age category, and the oldest man or woman across all routes. The top 3 of the general classification are excluded from the age categories, and a category counts only if at least 6 athletes take part. Falsely declared details mean automatic disqualification. Two intermediate aid stations, stocked with water, isotonic drink, Cola, savoury and sweet food. For environmental reasons no small water bottles are handed out at the stations, so bring a personal flask or hydration pack to be refilled. Littering anywhere on the course is strictly forbidden. Entry includes electronic timing, a technical shirt, a medal for every athlete, aid station and finish refreshments, and medical coverage. Race pack pickup: Saturday 14 November 2026, 12:00-19:00, at the Koumani Community Office; on race day the secretariat opens at 07:00 and hands out packs until 08:45. Awards ceremony at 12:30. Safety is covered by the Volunteer Civil Protection team of the Municipality of Ilida along the routes, with a doctor and a fully staffed ambulance at the start and finish.
