Important Information
6th Vamvakou Mountain Run is a mountain trail running event returning for its 6th year, offering runners from across Greece one of the most authentic alpine landscapes of the Peloponnese.
The 19km race with +800m elevation gain challenges experienced trail runners on the slopes of Parnon in Laconia.
All registered participants receive a bib number and timing chip, race bag, commemorative t-shirt, buff, socks, medal, and light meal at the finish.
Electronic timing on all routes ensures accurate performance tracking.
Awards: Top 3 men and women in overall standings, plus top 3 from each age category (18-39, 40-59, 60+).
Ceremony at 14:30.
Prize raffle for one lucky participant.
Time limit: 4:30 hours.
Age requirement: 18+ (born before 07/06/2008).
Limited registration: 200 participants.
Only paid registrations are valid.
TRANSPORTATION: Free bus service from Athens (departure 5:00am from Syntagma Square), Corinth (Isthmus stop), Tripoli, Sparti, and Kalamata (6:45am).
Must register for bus transport during event booking.
RACE PACK PICKUP: Saturday June 6th (17:00-20:00) or Sunday June 7th (7:30-9:00) at Vamvakou Community Center/Village Square - bring printed/digital BIB confirmation.
BRIEFING: Saturday June 6th at Vamvakou Square (detailed) and Sunday June 7th at 9:00am at starting point (brief).
FEED STATIONS: 4 main feed stations (water, isotonic drinks, gels, nuts, fruit) plus 2 water-only stations.
SAFETY: Full medical support throughout.
Runners participate at own risk.
Hellenic Police, Fire Service, and Red Cross provide coverage.
EQUIPMENT RECOMMENDATIONS: Small backpack with water bladder, windbreaker jacket, solids, elastic bandage, whistle, mobile phone.
Trekking poles allowed.
Headphones prohibited.
No external assistance or pets allowed.
All athletes must have own water drinkware.
No plastic cups provided.
