The race is held on the day of the Fish Festival (Γιορτή Ψαριού) in Aitoliko. Start and finish at the western bridge of Aitoliko. Held under the auspices of the Athletics Federation. The 23km distance is a race for the protection of the Aitoliko Lagoon, created and organized exclusively by the Athletic and Cultural Association of Runners of Aitoliko, returning after several years. Age categories: Men/Women: 18-34, 35-49, 50-64, 65+. Medal to all finishers; cups to top 3 in each age category. Following the races, award ceremony takes place and participants are invited to the Fish Festival at the central square of Aitoliko. Optional coach transfer from Nea Makri Town Hall (09:00) via Davaki Square in Egaleo (10:00) to Aitoliko, supported by the Telmissos Nea Makri-Marathon Association; cost €20.
