13th edition of the mountain running race organized since 2013 on the trails of Mount Kakavos, in the Skouries forest. The race is dedicated to the struggle against the gold-copper mining that threatens the mountain, the waters and the lives of the residents of NE Chalkidiki. Start and finish at the 'Chorostasi' square of Megali Panagia. The 25km race counts 1 ITRA point, is included in the UTMB Index and is part of the ITRA National League 2026. Aid stations at km 5, 11.5, 16 and 20; runners are advised to carry their own cup or bottle. The race package includes timing chip and bib, technical t-shirt, eco cloth bag, commemorative medal, participation diploma, herbal beeswax cream, mountain herbs and an energy gel. Awards for the top 3 men and women overall and the top 3 of the age categories 18-34, 35-49 and 50+. Course records: Theodoros Ziakas 2:07:31 (2025) and Christina Giazitzidou 2:30:39 (2024). No mandatory equipment; trekking poles, GPS and mobile phone are allowed. Limited on-site registrations may be available on race day until 09:00. After the awards, a traditional feast with the live band 'Dromolagnoi' takes place at the village square. Free overnight stay is offered the day before the race in shared guesthouses (10 persons each) at the Pilgrimage of Megali Panagia, 1.5km from the village, and free camping with WC is available at the same spot; bring sheets, sleeping bags or blankets and contact the organizers at least 15 days in advance.
