**Second Year Event - New Distance:** Amanitis Trail returns for its second edition with a new 40km option. **Route:** Covers the heart of Chios starting from scenic Avgonima village. Passes through Anavatos (medieval castle-village described as Chios's 'Mystras'), traverses mountain paths and dirt roads, reaches Agios Isidoros (historic worship site near Pytios), then returns to Avgonima for finish. Features varied topography including green streams, old agricultural roads, rocky passages with expansive sea views. **Age Requirement:** 18 years and older. **Experience Required:** Must demonstrate trail running experience by completing either: (1) Two mountain races of 20km+ with +1000m elevation gain within past three years, OR (2) One race of 35km+ with +2200m elevation gain within past three years. **Time Limit:** 8 hours total. **Cutoff Points:** - Anavathos (11.5km): 2 hours 20 minutes - Ag. Isidoros (21km): 4 hours **Age Categories:** 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ **What's Included:** Race bib, timing chip, aid stations, finisher medal, technical shirt (Luanvi brand), elastic cup (42K brand), and athletic socks (Desocks). **Optional Add-on:** €20 for choice of additional technical apparel (Anthrax brand shirt or sports bra) - deadline March 15, 2026. **Awards:** Top 3 male and female finishers across all distances, plus first-place winners in each age category. **Required Equipment:** Minimum 0.5 liters water, visible race bib, personal cup/bottle (no disposable cups provided). **Trekking Poles:** Permitted for this distance. **Drop Bags:** Available only at Ag. Isidoros checkpoint. **Pacers:** Not allowed (except final 100 meters before finish). **Registration Opens:** November 1, 2025. **Safety:** Medical staff at finish line with ambulances on standby, volunteers along route, medical representatives at checkpoints have authority to prevent runners deemed unfit. Route modifications permitted for dangerous weather. **Environmental Protection:** Required in national park area. **Disqualification:** Immediate disqualification for skipping checkpoints, cutting route, littering, refusing to assist distressed participants, or using unauthorized support.
